Doctors at the hospital in Magura, Bangladesh had never seen a baby like this one: the tiny boy was covered from head to toe with deep grooves and wrinkles. He looked more like an 80-year-old man than a newborn baby.

Even more unusual: His rough skin was also blanketed with thick, black hair across his entire back. The doctors weren’t able to confirm what the condition was, but they believe that the baby may have progeria. This rare disease comes from a genetic defect that causes those affected to age 10 times faster than normal. In every other way this little boy is perfectly healthy. His parents, Biswajit and Parul, couldn’t be happier about what they call their “miracle baby.” “There’s no need to be unhappy about my son’s appearance,“ his father said. “We will accept him the way he is.
